DENNIS ZIMBAUER

     Dennis R. Zimbauer, 72, Alma Center, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the hospital in Oshkosh, WI. Dennis was born Nov. 8, 1949, to Nick and Leona (Hizer) Zimbauer. He was the youngest of eight children.

     Dennis lived the majority of his life in the Alma Center area until his enlistment in the Navy in 1969 where he served for four years.

     He married Donna Schultz in October of 1971 and together they had four children, Chad, Casey, Kelly and Cory. Dennis and Donna later divorced but share nine grandchildren.

     He had various occupations throughout his life, including a military veteran, an employee at the iron mine until it closed, a semi driver and a driver for Chippewa Valley Bi-Products.

     He enjoyed watching the Packers’ games. In his earlier years, he enjoyed growing a garden and fishing. He also raised chickens and ducks. He had a horse and two calves. He always made sure the little swimming pool was clean for the ducks.

     He is survived by three of his children, his grandkids and two brothers and two sisters, also many nieces and nephews.

     Per his wishes, there will be no funeral. Chippewa Valley Cremation Services in Altoona, WI, assisted the family.

     A celebration of life is pending.
