Margaret Ann Boisen, 87, of Black River Falls passed away Sept. 11, 2022 at her home.
She was born Aug. 6, 1935, five miles west of Beaver, WI, the daughter of Anthony Victor Rebarchik and Clara Barbera Chucka.
Margaret was the fourth of 11 children and the first girl. They lived on the family farm with her family until she was 13 years old, then moved to Black River Falls to live with her aunt Mary and other siblings, where she was then enrolled in Black River Falls schools. She was in band and played the bass sousaphone and later joined the girl’s dance band where she played the bass.
Margaret met Bruce Marchand in the summer of 1951; they married Sept. 8, 1951, and were together for 33 years until his passing in 1984. During their marriage they had a daughter, Sheila.
Throughout the years Margaret held many different jobs from a waitress to working for companies like Sears, Allis-Chalmers, and Magaw Electric as a phone operator.
Margaret and her family moved to Black River Falls in early 1965. In 1969, they purchased a little house in the grove where she lived the rest of her life. Throughout the years in Black River Falls, she enjoyed a multitude of things: working at the polling place for over 50 years, helping at the senior center and working the 1989-1990 and 1999-2000 Census.
In 1985, Margaret married her second husband, Eugene Boisen (Ozzie), and they were married for 30 years.
During her life, Margaret enjoyed sewing, cutting wood and entering items in the Jackson County Fair, where she held multiple first-place ribbons, and loved doing puzzles. She also loved spending time with family and friends within the community and at church.
Margaret is survived by her grandson, James (Heather) Weister; great-grandson Trystan Weister and great-granddaughter Kori (Austin) Underwood; brothers Frank, Mike, Leonard, Joseph and Leo; and sisters Ann and Rose.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Sheila; brothers Anthony and Ignatius; and sister Mary Anthony Clare.
A Mass of Catholic burial will be held Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Guardian Angels Parish, in Black River Falls, WI. Father Arivu Mariappan will officiate. Family and friends are invited to visitation one hour prior to the start of services. A luncheon will be held at the church following services, followed by entombment at The Catholic Cemetery at 3 p.m., 519 Losey Blvd. S., La Crosse, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
