     Sandy made her journey to our Lord’s side Oct. 16, 2022, in the loving arms of her husband.

     Sandy made her earthly arrival Jan. 21, 1952, to Earl and Julia (Iverson) Smothers in Black River Falls, arriving as a very little bundle of fire, the same fire that would sustain her through life. Sandy joined five older siblings and would forever be “one of those Millston kids.”

     Sandy married her life love, David Loomis, in Nevada on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1988, and they were married for 34 years. They made their home in Nevada for a number of years before returning to Wisconsin to continue their life journey, making their home in the town of Manchester.

     David likes to describe their life together in relation to the words from the Johnny Cash song, “I’ve been everywhere man, across the deserts bare man, breathed the mountain air man…” Sandy worked and traveled with David by semi, car, plane and train. They made stories in every ride.

     Over the years, she had several jobs, form cleaning, managing their business, working in hotels, gas stations and finally retiring from the Black River Falls Walmart as a customer service manager due to health reasons.

     The jobs that Sandy held that meant the most to her were the ones where she held the title of wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandma, nana, sister and friend. With the fire still in her soul she was born with, she loved, protected, cherished and befriended her family and treaded through the trials of life.

     Sandy also had several passions and hobbies, she collected anything hummingbird-related and enjoyed sitting and watching the little birds out her window. Her and David loved the Packer games and could be “heard” watching the games. Her truest talent, though, lied within her hands. She could crochet the most beautiful doilies and table-clothes, but crocheting baby blankets for new babies in the family was nearest and dearest to her heart.

     Sandy left many to mourn her passing, her husband of 34 years, David Loomis; her grandson, Kenneth Williamson Jr.; her daughters, Julie (Dean Tuve) Williamson and Tammy (Gene) Adams; step-daughters Sherri (Dan) Wilson and Lorri Loomis; grandchildren Samantha, Kristin, Kourtney (Matt), Louis (Laura), Gabrielle (Devante) Critelli, Tom Adams, Christine Loomis and Nicholas Wilson; great-grandchildren Joe, Lacey, Taylor, Mackenzie, Emery, Kiiana and Jeremiah; brother Jim (Karen) Smothers; sisters-in-law Lorraine Smothers and Darlene Harkner; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

     Sandy also had an honorary family, one chosen, not given, son Eddie (Marcia) and grandchildren April (Dillon), Charles, Lisa, Dixie and Khloe Breedlove. She strongly believed that family isn’t created by blood but by love.

     At her glorious arrival in Heaven, she was greeted by her parents; her son, Kenneth Williamson Sr.; sisters Rosalene and Beverly; brothers Dale and Rod; and her father-in-law, Buck.

     Sandy will be celebrated and given tribute Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, with visitation at 10:30 a.m. to the time of service at the historic Millston Union Church, Berry Street, Millston, WI. Services will be at 11 a.m. with a light lunch at the Millston Community Center to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

     First Wisconsin Crematorium assisted the family.
