SANDRA “SANDI” KAY CONANT
Sandra Kay “Sandi” Conant, 66, of Black River Falls, passed away unexpectedly May 8, 2023. She was born June 29, 1956, to Marian Dornacher and Donald Babcock in Janesville, WI.
On Aug. 14, 1974, she was united in marriage to Bradley Conant in Afton, WI. Together, they had two children, Carmen and Bradley. Family was everything to Sandi! Though their life was simple, it was extraordinary at the same time. Very rarely do you hear of a love story like Brad and Sandi’s that lasts more than 42 years.
Sandi loved her Green Bay Packers. If you watched a game with her, you did it at your own risk. It was a regular occurrence to hear her chanting “Chicken Bones, Chicken Bones” in hopes of jinxing the opposing team. Sandi was the epitome of the term “Grandma,” it was a title she was most proud of.
She worked at Pine View Care Center for 46 years. She loved her job, especially the residents she cared for and people she worked with. Sandi was every sense of the word “caregiver.” Her blue eyes, beautiful smile, loving heart and dry ham will be missed by all who knew her.
Sandi is survived by her children, Carmen (Jim) Hericks of Tomah, and Bradley (Kattie) Conant of Antigo; her loving grandchildren, Corrin Jorgensen, Cami Hericks, Katelyn (Kaleb) Moseley, Zach Hericks, and Blake, Braden and Karlee Conant; great-grandchildren, Kolton and Koby Moseley; her mother, Marian Dornacher; sisters Micki Crawford, Sharon (Steve) Brown, Judi Stein and Sue (Dan) White; and brother Bob Dornacher; brother-in-law Dennis (Deb) Conant; sister-in-law Sandy Lanier; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Conant; her father, Donald Babcock; brothers Richard and Donald Jr.; her brothers-in-law, Alan Conant and Bryne Conant; and sister-in-law Colleen Cortez.
A memorial service for Sandi was held at 12 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Torgerson Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Marg officiating. Friends and family were invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
The Torgerson Funeral Home of Black River Falls assisted the family with arrangements.
