DANIEL EUGENE FUNMAKER

     Daniel Eugene Funmaker, 62, died peacefully at his home in Black River Falls, WI, surrounded by his loved ones April 9, 2024.

     Daniel was born to James and Ruth (Greyhair) Funmaker Sept. 19, 1961, in Black River Falls, WI. Daniel and his siblings attended and graduated from the Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota. 

     Daniel held a variety of occupations throughout his life, but when not working, he loved photography, bingo and listening to tribal music, especially drums.

     He is survived by his siblings, Eliza Green, James Funmaker, Kyle Funmaker, Sybil (Al) Grey Owl, Ethel Funmaker, Eloise Funmaker, Brent Funmaker, Joann Jones, Joyce (Jon) Warner and Bonnie (Sheldon) Hanson, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

     Daniel is preceded in death by both parents, James and Ruth Funmaker; his brothers, Gilbert Funmaker, Kent Funmaker, Myron Funmaker and Walter Funmaker; and sisters Ana Rae Funmaker and Prudence Funmaker. 

     Funeral services for Daniel were held at the Indian Mission Community Building (W8813 Mission Road, Black River Falls, WI, 54615) Thursday, April 11, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., followed by burial at Decorah Cemetery. Visitation took place the night before services at the Buswell Funeral Home from 5 until 6:30 p.m.
