BLAINE RAYMOND TWINN

     Blaine Raymond Twinn, 67, passed April 22, 2024, at his home in Black River Falls. 

     Blaine was born Sept. 30, 1956, to Margaret Blackhawk and Raymond Twinn. He was the grandson of Andrew Blackhawk, for whom American Legion Post #129 is named. The family lived in Wisconsin for his early years, eventually moving to Aurora, IL. After graduating from high school, he moved to Milwaukee, where he was involved in various shenanigans before enlisting the United States Army.

     After being honorably discharged from military service, Blaine returned to Milwaukee where he worked in construction and carpentry. He married his wife with whom he had three children. They later separated. Eventually, Blaine returned to Black River Falls, where he worked as a security guard for the Ho-Chunk Nation.

     Blaine loved hunting, fishing, video games and working on cars. He especially loved working on his El Camino and taking his nephews and other family members for fast—and occasionally scary—rides. Blaine was proud of his military service. Blaine was a skilled artist, craftsman and painter and was known for honoring others with traditional cultural gifts. 

     Blaine, like many others, had struggles with alcohol addiction during his life. The family would like to acknowledge this and urge those with similar issues to seek help for the sake of their families. 

     Blaine is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Blaine Andrew Twinn; and brothers Darrel Seneca, Rodney Twinn and Gary Twinn.

     Surviving Blaine are his sisters, Celina Twinn of Milwaukee and Dawn (Tony) Newman of Florida/Minnesota; brother Kevin (Yvette) Olson of Illinois; children Jake Twinn of Michigan and Angela Twinn of Milwaukee; as well as nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

     Funeral services for Blaine were held Monday, April 29, at the Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls; visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the start of services at noon. Burial followed at the Decorah Cemetery.
