MARIAN L. KERSTING 

     Marian L. Kersting, 87, of Janesville, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at her home. She was born in Jackson County Jan. 3, 1937, on the family farm, the daughter of Hans and Minnie (Mesner) Sorensen. Marian married Anuff Kersting June 17, 1953, in Black River Falls. He preceded her in death Aug. 29, 2012. 

     She was employed for over 30 years at El-Ra Bowl doing just about everything there is to do there! She also worked for other places such as McDonalds, Accudyne, Parker Pen and Super Valu. Marian was a longtime member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and enjoyed snowmobiling and of course, bowling.

     She is survived by her children, Wayne (Sharon) Kersting of Roscoe, IL, Keith (Connie) Kersting and Craig Kersting, both of Janesville; three grandchildren, Craig Kersting Jr., Crystal Kersting and Jason Kersting; six step-grandchildren, Brad (Wendy) Johnson, Ross Kirchner, Jim Kirchner, Rick Kirchner, Scott (Judith) Kirchner and Tammy Zinn; 16 step-great-grandchildren; 28 step-great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; step-great-grandchild Kayla Kirchner; step-great-great-grandchild Emmy Olson; and five siblings, Loretta Gerke, LaVerne Wachholz, Bertha Bernhardt, Lawrence “Bud” Sorensen and Walter Sorensen.

     Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. (noon) Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. David Bergelin officiating. A celebration of Marian’s life will be held at a later date.
