DENNIS FRANCIS HARMER
Dennis Francis Harmer, 81, of Bristol, WI, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at his home.
Dennis was born Feb. 7, 1941, to Francis and Dorothy (Klein) Harmer. He attended Papoos Creek Grade School and transferred to Black River Falls Junior High in eighth grade and graduated from Black River Falls High School. After graduation, he worked for the Conservation Department, American Brass, Kenosha Water Department and Pleasant Prairie Water Department.
He hunted deer from the time it was legal to do so, fished, went snowmobiling and restored tractors. He also built several homes.
He married Rosemari Gunderson in 1961, and they were divorced in 1984. They had one son, Dennis Francis Harmer Jr. He married Sharon Sullivan in May 1992.
Dennis is survived by his brother, Jim Harmer; sisters Marsha Harmer and Marian (Gene) Stetzer; niece Andrea Stetzer (Philip Burke); and nephew, Dan (Ashley) Stetzer; great-nephews Jayce and Aydan Stetzer, and Olin Burke; and great-niece Halle Burke. He is also survived by his two stepsons, Mike De Franco and Bobby (Rosalina) De Franco; and other step-family members.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents; wife Sharon; son Dennis Jr.; niece Nicole Stetzer; and ex-wife Rosemari.
A celebration of life and funeral was held at Kenosha Bible Church Aug. 6, 2024. Burial was at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
