SANDRA JANE BLACKDEER

     Sandra Jane Blackdeer, 70, of Black River Falls, WI, passed away at Gundersen Health System, La Crosse, WI, Friday, Sept. 27, 2024. Sandra was born to Harold Blackdeer Jr. and Lyla Thomas March 12, 1954, in Black River Falls, WI. She was later fostered and raised by Red and Cathryn Gilbertson of Merrillan, WI. Sandra will be remembered for living life large and being generous to a fault. 

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Neumann; daughter Ali Neumann; siblings Julia Blackdeer and John Blackdeer; and birth and foster parents.

     Sandra is survived by her siblings, Mary (Ron) Anwash, Harold (Janet) Blackdeer and Vera Hodges; children Jennifer Spencer, Cary Blackdeer, Rachel Walsh, Beth McDonald, Shanna Blackdeer and Patrick Hodges; grandchildren Xavier, Christina, Aaron, Ryan, Marisol and Vanetta, whom she grew very close with these past few years; along with many other nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

     Funeral services for Sandra took place Monday, Sept, 30, 2024, at the Buswell Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Clayton Winnishiek officiated. A burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Merrillan, WI, followed. All were invited to a luncheon at the Mission Community building for a meal afterward.
