CHINTANA (TOY) CHERNACH
Chintana (Toy) Chernach of Black River Falls lost her medical battles Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, at the age of 85. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Chernach; her parents and her siblings.
She leaves behind her daughter, Donna (Scott) Drangstveit. She is also survived by relatives in Thailand, many great friends and her cat, Tiny.
Chintana was born April 18, 1939, in Khon Kaen Thailand. Chintana lived in Thailand until the age of 32. She then met a handsome Air Force sergeant (Richard). They wed, and she began her new life here in the United States. She gave birth to a single child (Donna) in Almogordo, New Mexico, Sept. 14, 1973. Richard, Chintana and their daughter, Donna, lived in various places in the United States, as Richard was in the military. In 1979, Richard retired from the military and brought his family back home to Wisconsin where they resided in Hatfield, Merrillan and Black River Falls, WI.
Chintana spent most of her life being a loving wife, homemaker and stay-at-home mom. She had a few years of employment outside of the home as a housekeeper at a local motel and worked in the restaurant at the Ho-Chunk gaming casino. Chintana was an excellent gardener; She enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor with friends and family. She was an excellent cook and an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Chintana would visit and donate annually to animal shelters due to her love and compassion towards animals.
A memorial service for Chintana will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Buswell Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of service.
