DIANE MARIE (LAUFENBERG) STEERE

DIANE MARIE (LAUFENBERG) STEERE

Diane Marie (Laufenberg) Steere, 72, of Black River Falls, WI, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2024.

She was born Jan. 15, 1952, to Gilbert and Fern (Hanby) Laufenberg in Black River Falls, WI. She was raised in the Alma Center area on her family’s large beef farms and enjoyed helping with chores and spending time riding her horses. She graduated from Lincoln High School-Alma Center, WI, in 1970.  She loved country music and spent many years in a band with her sister (Joanne) and brother (Larry). The band enjoyed playing at numerous clubs in Wisconsin and Minnesota.  These were some of the best years of her life, especially when her mom and dad would come along!  Diane loved being around family. She especially loved it when her daughter (Lisa) and her son (Rick) could get their families together, and everyone would enjoy just being together for holidays, vacations or no reason at all.  Diane loved planting flowers, camping, fishing, feeding the birds and loved being around animals, especially dogs.

Diane is survived by her dog, Muffin; her daughter, Lisa (Joe) Listle of Black River Falls, WI; son Rick (Dawn) Hanenberger of Monroe, WI; grandchildren Ben Hodge, Hanna (Michael) Skilling, Dezmond (Megan) Hanenberger, Dalton Hodge and Destiny (Tradyen Foster) Hanenberger; great-grandchildren Wylder, Wesley and Arlo; sisters Joanne Wilson, Nancy (Chuck) Brantner, Debra Ennis; brothers Larry (Wendy) Laufenberg and Gib (Anita) Laufenberg; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and some really great friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents (Gilbert and Fern Laufenberg); her husband (Daniel Steere); three brothers, Jerome, Donald and Roger Laufenberg; and a granddaughter, Kaila Diane Hodge.

A private cemetery gathering will take place at the Sechlerville Cemetery in Hixton, WI, for family and close friends.

Please do not grieve for me, let the sadness pass quickly, for life is short and our great memories are many!
