DOROTHY A MICHENER

DOROTHY A MICHENER
Dorothy A Michener, 91, was called to her Heavenly home Saturday, Nov. 9, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Black River Falls, WI, where she will be met by those who have gone before her.
Dorothy was born May 10, 1933, in La Crosse, WI. She spent her childhood with her three siblings, Carol, Jim and Beth.
She married her late husband, Douglas Michener Sr, June 10, 1956, and went on to have three children of her own, Douglas Michener Jr., Timothy Michener (Lisa Adams) and Sarah Michener.
She dedicated her life to teaching and taught in Marshfield, Onalaska and Black River Falls. After her retirement, she remained dedicated by volunteering in the local schools.
Dorothy dearly loved her church (Trout Run United Methodist Church) and was proud to be involved in several activities and events the church held each year, including: providing meals for families of the area during the holidays as well as the fall bazaar. She played piano regularly at the church for as long as she was able. And if you were lucky enough to visit her at home, you would have experienced her bouncing around and singing hymns.
She loved to read her Bible and to spend time with family. She had an infectious laugh and was always thinking of others. To know Dorothy was to lover her.
Dorothy leaves behind her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her deeply.
Services will be held Saturday, November 23rd at Trout Run United Methodist Church, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The service will begin at 12p.m. with a luncheon to follow
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice or to Project Christmas in Black River Falls of which Dorothy was very fond.
“Think about how each of us might be able to make a difference in the lives of others as Jesus would have us do.” Dorothy Michener
