KATHERINE E. PETITT 

     Katherine E. Petitt, 91, passed away Sept. 19, 2025, at the Augusta Nursing Home.

     Katherine was born to Casper and Elizabeth (Krause) Horn April 12, 1934, in Beloit, WI. She was united in marriage to William Petitt May 12, 1951.

     She was well known as the deli manager at Kohl’s Grocery store in Beloit, WI.  She also worked at Roma Pizza plant in Black River Falls for five years. She loved reading, and, in her retirement, she learned how to cross-stitch. She made many beautiful blankets, pillowcases and other items throughout the years.

     She is preceded in death by her husband, William; daughter, Mary Sasman, her parents, and multiple siblings.

     Katherine’s memory will forever be in the hearts of her children, Wanda (Jeff) Amo, Joan (Michael) Esser, Joseph Petitt, Julie (Brian) Majerus and Mark Petitt (Becky Campfield); son-in-law Gerhart Sasman; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

     A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black River Falls, WI. A visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of service. An additional service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home (424 Prospect St. Beloit, WI 53511). A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service, burial will take place in Eastlawn Cemetery in Beloit, WI.

     The family prefers memorials be sent to St. Croix Hospice or to St. John Lutheran Church in Beloit.
