JACK (JOHN) EDDY

Jack (John) Eddy, 86, passed away Sept. 2, 2026. He was born in Black River Falls and spent most of his life there.  Jack married Marie (Diehn) June 21, 1958.  Most of his working life he was employed by General Telephone (GTE). Jack is survived by his wife, Marie; his children, Danielle (Mike) Foellmi, Denise Eddy, Sam (Becky) Eddy, and Mathew (Cate) Eddy as well as grandchildren Jackson Burgau, Ellie (Patrick) Gunville, Lucy Eddy, Paul Eddy and John Eddy and great-grandchildren Amelia and Adeline Gunville; also brother Bruce (Cheryl) Eddy, sisters Renell Smith and Mary (Dave) Overlein; in laws Catherine Brauner and Steve (Carol) Diehn.

Preceding him in death were his son-in-law, Mike Owecke, parents Cecil and Delores Eddy, Sharon Eddy, Renea and Norm Stoker. Judy Eddy and Steve Smith, his in-laws Connie and Ethel Diehn, Caroline and Aubrey (Ole) Olson,  Dave Diehn and Joe Brauner.

There will be a gathering to celebrate Jack’s life at the Lunda Park Shelter in Black River Falls from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.  2:00 to 3:00 will be set aside for anyone who would like to share a story or memory about Jack.

 Jack loved to spend time with young people, he enjoyed their energy and formed many special connections. He was also an avid reader and an aficionado of history.  Birds ate well in Jack’s backyard, he was a master bird feeder with pulley systems for getting the seed and suet up in the air and trying to keep the squirrels out of the feeders.  His greatest passion was the outdoors; camping, fishing and his many trips to the boundary waters.  He would freely share his knowledge with anyone who was wanting to know.  Jack is on his final journey, canoeing into the Boundary Waters, we know that he has left the world and the people whose lives he touched richer for the contact.
