ALICE M. OLSON
Alice M. Olson, 87, of Tomah, WI, passed away peacefully at Liberty Village in Tomah Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024. She was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Osseo, WI, to Albert and Elvina (Hendrickson) Larson. She was born the eighth of nine children. She was confirmed at Upper Pigeon Lutheran Church in Northfield, WI, and graduated from Hixton High School in 1954.
On July 16, 1955, Alice married the love of her life, Duane E. Olson. They settled north of Wyeville and raised their three children, Brian, Terry and Dawn. In 2017, they sold the homeplace and moved to Tomah.
Alice worked for the Tomah Greenhouse for many years and had a green thumb for house plants and flower gardens. Alice and Duane loved to travel. They went as far as Norway. She was an avid fan of the Packers, the Brewers and Badger Football.
Alice was a faithful member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Shennington.
She is survived by her children, Brian (Lynn) of Omaha, NE, Terry (Kathy) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Dawn (Tim) of Ontario, WI; five grandchildren, Joel (Tisha), Jon, Haley, Collin (Jenna) and Hannah; one great-grandson, Nate; a sister, Selma Vradenberg; sister-in-law Beatrice Larson; and many nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; her parents; her in-laws; brothers Alvin (Mildred) Larson, Odell (Eva) Larson, John (Leona) Larson, Earl (Alice) Larson and Arnie Larson; sisters Anna (Jerry) Bloomer and Helen (Roger) Pierson; and a brother-in-law, Stan Vrandenberg.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Shennington, WI. Pastor Brad Lindberg will officiate. Burial will be held at the Upper Pigeon Lutheran Church in Northfield, WI. Family and friends are invited for visitation Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah.
