AVIS SCHREINER

AVIS SCHREINER
Avis Johannaha (Anderson) Schreiner, 75, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side April 2, 2025.
Avis was born to Adolph and Helen (Husby) Anderson in Strum, WI, April 19, 1949, before the family moved to Northfield. She attended school at the old Northfield School and later attended Whitehall High School.
Avis married Frank Schreiner Oct. 8, 1971. Anywhere you found Frank, you could usually find Avis by his side. The two were part of the Broken Razor Car Club and enjoyed attending various hot rod, rat rod, and classic car shows together. She also loved riding Harleys and cruising the open road. Avis was also fond of horses and horseback riding. She would take her horses along the ATV trails in Eleva, or she would even ride along the highway, racing the semi-trucks as they went by. Frank and Avis would have celebrated 54 years of marriage this October.
A lifelong resident of Northfield, she and Frank bought the old Northfield School House in the mid-1980s to be closer to Avis’s father, to whom she was a caretaker for several years. A natural homemaker with a green thumb, she quickly turned the old schoolhouse into a warm and vibrant home for her family, filling the house with houseplants and cultivating beautiful flowers in her garden.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Frank; and her two daughters, Samantha (Maynard) Rave and Denise (Derek) Mallas.
Avis is preceded in death by her infant son, Cregory Anderson; and her parents, Adolph and Helen.
A funeral service will be held at the Northfield Lutheran Church Friday, April 11, officiated by Pastor Steven Aldach. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. Avis will be laid to rest beside her parents in the Northfield Lutheran Church Cemetery. All are invited to join the family for a meal at the church.
Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with funeral arrangements and may be contacted at 715-963-2311.
