Barbara Hansen

     Barbara Ann Hansen, 74, passed away May 15, 2022, at her home in Merrillan. She was born June 17, 1947, to Irving and Melissa (Brown) Winnie in Black River Falls.

     Barbara graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1965. She married Louis Hansen on June 2, 1967, and together they had two children. Barbara owned and operated an adult family home for over 25 years. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether hunting, camping, fishing or four-wheeling. She also loved crafting, especially making quilts with her mother. She was an avid baker and also enjoyed dancing. Above all, however, Barbara loved having a good time with family and friends. 

     She is survived by her children, Tina Pick and Eric Hansen; her grandchildren, Samantha, Koral, Zion, Ciarra, Camren, Izzabella, Wayne and Kristina; six great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Sheila (Steven) Hart, Gary (Mary) Winnie, and Michael (Sylvia) Winnie.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; and two brothers, Robert and Jamie Winnie.  

     A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Torgerson’s Funeral Home in Black River Falls with Reverend Terry Marg officiating. Friends and family are invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

     The Torgerson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
