BECKY S. HAMMES

BECKY S. HAMMES

Becky S. Hammes, 54, died surrounded by her family at home Wednesday, Sept 11, 2024. She was born March 1, 1970, to Warren L. and Priscilla M. (Davidson) Rosin. Becky attended school in Black River Falls, WI, and graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1988. Becky served her country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1992. In 1996, Becky graduated with a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. On June 8, 1996, she married Clay Hammes in Black River Falls, WI.

Becky worked as a teacher’s aide and eventually as a substitute teacher at Parkview High School for 13 years. She helped many students along the way and often reflected on her time at Parkview, telling stories about her students, friends and fellow coworkers. In 2021, Becky began working at Hawk’s Mill Winery. Becky had an instant connection with the manager, Tracey, and made many new friendships with her coworkers. She often expressed how much she loved her job.

Becky had many interests in her life. She had a passion for flowers and would spend hours caring for her flower gardens, her favorite hobby, as it was one she lovingly shared with her mother and grandmother. Becky also loved driving back country roads with her husband to find new places to enjoy. It was on one of these adventures that Becky found Hawk’s Mill Winery. Becky also enjoyed golfing and fishing, watching movies and listening to 80s and country music. She loved to entertain, decorate for each season, especially Halloween and Christmas, and was an amazing cook. Becky loved to spend time with her family and friends, and made many cherished memories with all of them. Becky had a beautiful personality and could be recognized anywhere just by her long, gorgeous, curly hair.

Her daughters were such an important part of her life too. She was a great horse show mom, always helping out with anything at shows and preparing snacks for everyone. Becky was very helpful with every musical that her daughters were a part of.  She was very involved in the Parkview Pizazz show choir, serving as vice president of the parent board from 2015-2016 as well as president from 2017-spring 2019. Becky was also a dedicated sports mom. She could often be heard cheering for her daughters from the stands at many games for various sports. Becky was a 25-year member of the American Legion and was a member of Post 209 in Orfordville, WI. She also absolutely loved animals and was a wonderful cat and dog mom. Becky touched many lives in the Orfordville and Browntown communities and is described as leaving people and places better than she found them. She was a friend and mother to many, and cherished every relationship she had.

Becky is survived by her husband of 28 years, Clay Hammes; daughters Lauren Hammes and Rachel Hammes; sister Cindy (Neil) Kampen and their child Kendall; and sister Carrie Rosin and her children, Elizabeth and Taylor Stanley.

She was preceded in death by her parents Warren and Priscilla Rosin; grandparents Lorenz and Mabel Rosin and Ward and Lillian Davidson.
