CAROL LAMBERT

CAROL LAMBERT

Carol Rose Lambert passed away peacefully in her sleep Jan. 3, 2023, at age 95. She was born to Merlin J. Peterson and Etta B. (Chrisinger) Peterson Feb. 17, 1927, in Black River Falls, WI. Carol grew up in the countryside of Black River and attended country schools. She graduated from Black River Falls High School and worked in the area until marrying Duane Lambert in June of 1949. She and Duane lived in Wisconsin until 1956 when they journeyed to Wasilla, AK, to pursue Duane’s teaching career. In 1961, they moved to Fairbanks, AK, and lived out their lives.

Known for her kindness, support and love of friends and family, she went quietly about her tasks, never complaining. Her quiet strength belied her small stature and gained the respect of all who met her. She and Bill survived together well into their 90s, living as rich and full a life as few could even imagine.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Duane Lambert; her father, Merlin J. Peterson; her mother, Etta Peterson (Chrisinger); and her brother, Eugene Peterson.

She is survived by her sisters, Marion Hagen, Judith (Ole) Olson and Lois Ferries; and sister-in-law Charlotte Peterson; and her brother, Larry Peterson. Another brother, Verland “Chub” Peterson, passed away Jan. 7, 2023, only four days after his older sister. Carol is also survived by sons Ron and Tracy Lambert; her daughters, Julie Videtto and Brenda Fritz; granddaughter Jennifer Videtto; grandsons Jason Lambert, Brooks Lambert, John Videtto and Brady Lambert; seven great-grandchildren, Levi, Carter and Ellie, Clayton and Trenton, and Crystal and Elijah; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials will be in both Fairbanks, AK, and Black River Falls, WI, at a later date.
