CAROL MARIE (RUMPPE) EIDE

     Carol Marie (Rumppe) Eide, 97, of Hixton, WI, passed away April 24, 2023 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI.

     Carol was born Dec. 21, 1925, to Lester and Frances (Lukas) Rumppe in Taylor, WI. She attended and graduated from Taylor High School. Carol was united in marriage to Merlin Eide June 19, 1946, at Taylor Lutheran Church and were married for 67 years until Merlin’s passing in 2013.

     After graduation, she worked at the Hixton Bank, and side-by-side with her husband, Merlin, on their farm in Curran Township for over 60 years. She was an active member of the Upper Pigeon Lutheran Church Women’s Group. Carol enjoyed quilting and old-time music.

     Carol is survived by her brother, Richard Rumppe, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Frances Rumppe; husband Merlin; brothers Charles, Vernon and Ernest; and sister-in-law Janice Rumppe. 

     Funeral services for Carol will take place Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Upper Pigeon Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Pastor David Christianson will officiate. Friends and family are invited to call on the family from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial at Upper Pigeon Lutheran Cemetery will immediately follow the service.
