CECIL RAY PETERS

 

            Cecil Ray Peters, 75, of Black River Falls passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Gunderson Tri-County Health Care Center in Whitehall, WI.

Cecil was born July 31, 1947, in Black River Falls to Floyd and Myrtle (Hermanson) Peters. He was married to his wife, Alohoa, Jan. 14, 1967, at the Blair Lutheran Church.

Cecil had several different careers, including working as a deputy reserve officer for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, driving bus for the Black River Falls School District, owning and operating a sewer business, mowing at Trinity Farms and working as a meat-cutter in Blair.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing bingo at Kal’s, had a love of cats and dogs, and always loved to visit with his friends and family.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents; wife Alohoa; son Jody Peters; brothers Richard (Eileen) Peters, Earnest (Gladys) Peters, Joe (Lorretta) Peters and Jack (Nellie) Peters; sisters Virginia (Arnold) Springkle, Frances (Tom) Tibbitts, and Violet (Jerry) Gebhardt. 

Cecil is survived by his son, Troy (Wanda) Peters; daughter Michele (Donald) Moe; daughter-in-law Holly Peters; brother James (Isabelle) Peters; sister Ruth Ann (Lynn) Finch; grandchildren Mason (Molly) Hieb, Trever Hieb, Matthew (Alannah) Peters, Mercedes Peters, Mitchell (Arlecia) Peters and Carl (Samantha Capouch) Peters; and great-grandchildren Sutton Miller, Holland Miller and Haelynn Peters.

A memorial service for Cecil Peters will be held Friday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Torgerson Funeral Home of Black River Falls, 408 North Water Street. Friends of the family are invited to visitation from 10 a.m. until the start of services.
