Christine Dormady

     Christine R. Dormady, 69, of Black River Falls passed away March 15, 2022, at Marshfield Hospital, Marshfield. She was born May 11, 1952, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Selmer and Edna Severson. She married Dickie L. Dormady Aug. 2, 1975.   

     Christy graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1970. She attended Western Wisconsin Technical Institute, where she received a degree in business in 1971. In 1975, she married Dickie and they had six children, while residing in Black River Falls. She was mostly a homemaker while raising their children. Once they were older, she worked at various hotels as a housekeeper/hospitality worker in the area, including Falls Motel, Best Western and Holiday Inn. She enjoyed socializing with all the people that came to the hotels. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together, embroidery and crosswords. She was a social lady who enjoyed gathering at the local tavern and could talk to anyone for hours. 

     Christy is survived by her husband, Dickie; her sons, Joey (Diann), Troy (Jenny), Brad (Stephanie); daughter Heather (fiancé Barry); grandchildren Mariah, Makayla, Kylie, Alexandra, Nolan, Jace, Nora and Douglas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

     Christy is preceded in death by her parents, Selmer and Edna Severson; her two daughters, Annette and Cindy; and her four stepbrothers, Irwin, Edward, Otto LeRoy and Robert Johnson. 

     Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, with a visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Buswell Funeral Home, 106 S. 2nd St, Black River Falls, WI. Burial will be held at a later date at the Sullivan Cemetery in Brockway. 

     The Buswell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
