DeAnete “De” T. Olson (nee Johnson) 

     DeAnete “De” T. Olson (nee Johnson), 86, passed away July 15, 2023, in St. Petersburg, FL. 

     De is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred, and three daughters, Lynne Olson, Lori (Larry) Waddle and Lisa Hill; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

     De grew up in Humbird, WI, and graduated from Lincoln High School where she met her future husband, Fred. 

De went on to graduate from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Milwaukee as a registered nurse. After receiving her BSN from Marymount University, she completed her master’s degree in public health from USF. She had various roles throughout her nursing career.

     As an army officer, Fred was occasionally deployed, leaving De responsible for raising the girls for which he is grateful. De loved to entertain and spend time with her family. Passing on Norwegian holiday traditions of making lefsa and meatballs was a cherished annual event.

     A service will be held at Lutheran Church of the Cross Aug. 5 at 11 a.m.
