DENNIS “CHAPPY” CHAPMAN

 

     Dennis “Chappy” Chapman, longtime resident of Alma Center, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI, at the age of 71.

     Dennis is survived by his sister, Nancy (Rumpel); brothers Dean and Brian; and his many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. 

     Dennis was predeceased by his father, Walter; mother Blanche; brother Jeffrey; and sister Diane (Nelson).

     Dennis was born in Marshfield, WI, May 20, 1952, to Walter and Blanche Chapman. He graduated from Lincoln High School and Chippewa Valley Technical College where he received a degree in accounting. Dennis was employed as a welder with Nelson Muffler in Black River Falls for 13 years and a laborer at Ashley Furniture for five years. After retiring, Dennis dedicated much of his time to taking care his mother, as the two of them did everything together until her passing.  

     Anyone that knew Chappy loved Chappy. In his earlier years, he lived for playing softball, bowling, golfing and spending time with family and friends. Even after giving up on sports, time with family and friends was still important until the day he passed.

     Dennis’ wishes would be for people not to mourn his loss, but to celebrate his good life. Therefore, a funeral will not be held, and a celebration of life will follow at a later date, to be announced.
