Donavon Menning

     Donavon Howard Menning, 59, of Black River Falls, died unexpectedly at his home Sunday May 15, 2022.

     Don was born Aug. 5, 1962, in Linwood, CA, to Donald and Mary (Sullivan) Menning. After graduating from high school, Don went to work for years as a car mechanic in Appleton. He later moved back to Black River Falls, where he worked for the Ho-Chunk Nation for over 10 years.

     Don enjoyed fishing and tinkering with his guitar. He was generally a private person.

     Survivors include his sisters, Kay (David) Mach and Heidi Menning; a niece, Holland Hogden; a nephew, Dillon Quinlan; and a special friend, Sherry Thompson.

     Don was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary Menning.

     Don’s wishes were to be cremated and to have his ashes sprinkled over his favorite fishing hole. Thus, private services have been rendered, par Don’s wishes.

     A celebration of life is being planned for a date, time and place yet to be determined but will be announced.
