FRANK ANTON SCHOLZE

FRANK ANTON SCHOLZE

Frank Anton Scholze, 100, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 at Dove Healthcare-Osseo following a brief illness. His family kept vigil during this time and he passed very peacefully.

Frank was born May 19, 1923, in rural Humbird to Theodore and Clara Scholze. He grew up on the family farm, the seventh of nine brothers: Theodore, Louis, Edwin, Walter, Clarence, Lawrence, Robert and Reuben. He graduated from Fairchild High School in 1941, where he enjoyed his friends, his classes and taking part in the school plays.

He served in the Army from January 1949 to January 1950 and in Korea from October 1950 to September 1951. He came home to Wisconsin to farm, first with his brother, Reuben, then buying his own farm in Garden Valley.

Frank was united in marriage to Ilene Jarstad June 27, 1953. Ilene was always the only one for him. They were farming partners and raised four children, Kathie, Phyllis, Dan and Brad. Their farming operation often received honors for their milk quality over the course of many decades. Frank was very resourceful and could fix almost anything, a skill that came in handy with his combine and other machinery.

Their retirement activity was raising a small herd of beef cattle, which allowed Frank more time to enjoy reading and watching the Packers and Badgers. Frank and Ilene enjoyed traveling with their children to Norway, Sweden, Finland, Alaska, Hawaii and many of the western United States. They enjoyed going out for fish fry every Friday night and dinner after church each Sunday.

Frank was always a helpful neighbor and family member. Calm and patient, he lived by his strong faith and the Golden Rule. His word was his bond, and he had the most wonderful smile.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents; all eight brothers; many sisters and brothers-in-law and son Daniel.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ilene; daughter Kathie (Michael) Hachey of Hudson, WI; daughter Phyllis (Peter) Skadahl of North Mankato, MN; son Brad (Kelly Kennedy) Scholze of Watertown, WI; grandchildren Bjorn Olson, Tyge Olson, Elisa Skadahl Kurt, Corey Skadahl, Lauren Scholze, Ashley Scholze and Aidan Scholze; and great-grandchildren Kai Olson, Hanna Olson, Jakob Olson, Drew Olson, Addison Kurt, Stella Kurt, Neela Skadahl, Dev Skadahl and Kavi Skadahl.

The funeral service for Frank will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Northfield Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Visitation will continue at the church Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Northfield Lutheran Cemetery following the service.

We would like to thank the home care, hospice and the Dove Healthcare-Osseo staff that tenderly cared for Dad in the last several years of his life. You are much appreciated.
