GEORGE “DAN” FRELK
George “Dan” Frelk, 65, died Saturday, June 8, 2024, at home with his family by his side after battling cancer.
Dan was born Feb. 9, 1959, in Chicago, IL. The family later relocated to Aurora, IL, where Dan graduated from West Aurora High School in 1977.
Dan married Tracy Shoun March 29, 1979. They were blessed with three children, Amanda, Jonathan and Danielle. The two later separated.
He loved working outdoors, which made him perfectly suited for his career in the Christmas tree business. Even when not at work, Dan could be found outside working in his yard, fishing with his grandkids, hunting, swimming in his pool or spending time with his dogs.
Dan is survived by his three children, Amanda (Scott) Porter of Concord, NC, Jonathan (Gloria) Frelk of Bloomer, WI, and Danielle (Gene) Frelk-Owen of Waterman, IL; and his grandchildren, Mason, Ryan, Peighton, Hayden, Blake, Brennin and Arya. He is also survived by his lifelong partner of 21 years, Lee George; her son, Jeffrey; and granddaughters Eve and Eliza. Dan is further survived by his siblings, Deborah (Thomas) McGlinch, Michael (Angela) Frelk and Patricia (Howard) Arenkill; and his nieces and nephews James, Ashley, Lauren (Samuel) and Alexander (Alexandria).
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Norma Frelk.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Osseo Community Church. Visitation starts at 10 a.m., and the service will begin at noon. After a luncheon at the church, burial and a brief committal service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Neillsville, WI at 2:30 p.m.
