HELEN E. NORTH

     Helen E. North, 82, passed away with her family by her side early Saturday morning, April 5, 2025, at Willowick Moments Memory Care, Beloit. She was born April 29, 1942, in Beloit, WI, to the late Edward and Elizabeth (Doud) Spangler. 

     Helen loved working at multiple restaurants in Janesville, including Cornerstone, Marc’s Big Boy, Town and Country and Riverside. She loved camping, birdwatching and playing games like Yahtzee, 10,000 and solitaire, always seeming to win at them. Helen truly loved spending time with her family and friends.

     She is survived by her children, Rene Bue, Kimberly Bue, Jon (Veronica) Bue and Jennifer North Herden; grandchildren Kristine Soto, Josh Berg, Elisabeth Amaya, Justin (Teka) Bue, James Rutledge, Erika (Theron) Neisius, Justine (Jerod Franke) Bue, Noah North, Kaitlyn North Herden, Jonathan (Angelina) North Herden and Levi North Herden; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Joyce Sullivan and Janice Hicks; brother Vernon Spangler; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter Paisley Neisius; and siblings Sally Flowerette, Edward Spangler, Loretta Charneski, Chuck Spangler, Donna Brown, Betty Scofield, and Steve Spangler. 

     A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Apfel Wolfe Funeral Home, 21 S. Austin Rd, Janesville. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Online condolences made at www.apfelwolfe.com
