JAMES BRONNER

     James H. Bronner, 87, of Tomah, WI, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2022, at the Tomah VA Medical Center. He was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Minnesota to Peter and Viola (Ellis) Breyer.

     Jim served proudly in the United States Air Force for eight years in Korea during the Korean War, operating helicopters. He was a true jack-of-all-trades and did a variety of jobs over the years - truck driving, working on farms/ranches and oil and foundry work. He even started the West Bend City Cab Company, along with owning his own painting business. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, watching all kinds of sports (especially boxing), going on long walks, fixing up cars and listening to country music and watching country westerns. Jim had a strong faith and enjoyed reading the Bible. He was a deacon for many years. He loved to be a jokester and had a great sense of humor and more than anything, cherished his time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

     He is survived by his wife, Thelma; children Cathy Bernal, Kim Bronner, Tammy Jo (Bill) Stearns, Diane Streeter, James Bronner Jr., Michael P. Bronner, Effie (John) Krosinski, Stacy Reed, and Michael Scott Bronner; brother David (Janet) Bronner; sister Linda (Carl) Tautfest; and sister-in-law Sue Bronner; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons Corey Bronner and Johnny Krosinski Jr.; sister Ida Breyer; brothers Robert Bronner and Jeff Bronner; and his first wife, Carol Bronner.

     Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor Clyde Ewers officiated. Burial will be held at a later date in the Shamrock Cemetery. Family and friends were invited for visitation Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
