JAMES M. BRADY

     On Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, James Michael Brady, passed away at the age of 79 in Mesa, AZ, from complications of prolonged illness. 

     Jim was born on Aug. 22, 1943, in Milwaukee, WI, to Earl and Hildegarde (Duma) Brady.

     Jim was a golf and sports enthusiast. He had a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, history and teaching. He was an alumnus of UW-La Crosse. He taught inside and outside the classroom with his final professional teaching years spent at Melrose-Mindoro High School (WI). He taught multitudes, was loved by many and impacted all he met. Jim was kind and generous with his time and means to friends, family and charitable organizations. He will be missed dearly.

     Jim was preceded in death by his father, Earl; mother Hildegarde; sister Mary Bazzano; daughter-in-law Ann Brady; daughter-in-law Donna Buchda; great-granddaughter Genevieve Turpin; and great-grandson Kent Ramos.

     Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Lavena (Cass, Buchda) Brady; two daughters, Colleen (Fred) Rosemeyer and Stephanie Brady; and one son, Sean (Kat) Brady; stepsons Patrick Renk, Timothy Buchda and Anthony Buchda; and stepdaughters Jeri Renk, Layne Wilbright, Pamela Buchda, Diane Buchda and Valerie Buchda; 29 grandchildren; and 31 great grandchildren.

     Grandchildren are Ashley (Ed) Reudy, Barbara Harlos, Brian (Brouge) Ramos, Candice (John) Nichols, Cassandra (Jordan) Cornwell, Chele (Dustin) Ramos Taylor, Connor Renk, Corey Buchda, Daniel Ramos, Debra Wilbright, Elizabeth Ramos, Evan Renk, Jacqueline Ramos, Jason Buchda, Jessica (Andrew) Turpin, John (Melissa) Ramos, Joseph (Jennifer) Ramos, Julia Ramos, Lacey Buchda, Madi Wilbright, Mathew Brady, Michael (Liz) Ramos, Michael Renk, Robert (Chelsea) Davidson, Samantha Wilbright, Shannon (Grant) Buchda, Sophia Buchda, Stephen (Chelsey) Ramos, and Vanessa Buchda Donnelly.

     A celebration of life will be held in honor of Jim Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at the American Legion in Melrose from 1 p.m.  until 6 p.m. A cash bar will be open for drink purchases.
