JEFFERY “PETEY” PETERSON

     Jeffery “Petey” Scott Peterson, 62, passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, surrounded by family. He was born Oct. 30, 1960, in Black River Falls, WI. He was the son of Larry Peterson and Bernadean (Mayer) Peterson.

     Jeff lived his entire life in the Hatfield/Black River Falls area. During his high school years, he played baseball, basketball and football. Whether watching or participating, he enjoyed sports - playing countless games of slow pitch, fast pitch, horse shoes and shuffle board. He was an avid fan of all things Packers, Badgers and Brewers. He looked forward each year to the gun deer hunting in the fall, ice fishing in the winter, and canoeing, camping, and fishing in the summer. Jeff enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends and giving people a “hard time.” He was quite the jokester.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sharon (Dvorak) Peterson; sons Guerra Peterson of La Cressent, MN, and Lucas (Brickie) Peterson, of Fairbanks, AK; mother Bernadean Peterson; brother Michael Peterson; sister Theresa (Allan) Hawley; brother- in- law Tim Dvorak; grandchildren Arlo Peregrine and Lacey Peterson; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many great friends. 

     Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Larry Peterson; in-laws Aggie and Lowell Dvorak; and brother-in-law David Dvorak. 

     There will be a celebration of life for Jeff at Deer View Lodge in Merrillan, WI, on Dec. 3, 2022, from 1 to 4 p.m. with a short service at 2 p.m. with Reverend Terry Marg officiating.
