JENNIE SUE (BOWMAN) PEETERS
Jennie Sue (Bowman) Peeters, 47, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 2, 2024, at her home. Jennie was born June 14, 1977, to Jay Bowman and Valerie (DeGroot) Bowman. She was a 1995 graduate of Lincoln High in Alma Center, WI. Jennie was united in marriage to Andrew Peeters Aug. 30, 2003. She went on to earn her master’s degree in guidance and counseling in 2008. She was proud to have finished the 2019 Eau Claire Marathon. She was active in Boy Scout Troop 50 as an assistant scoutmaster. She donated her kidney, so another person might have a better and longer life. She was employed by United Health Care as a claims representative. Her “boys” were the center of her life, and she loved her newest role as a doting grandma. She was at peace working in her garden and had developed a new-found love for canning.
Jennie is survived by her husband, Andy; her sons, Austin (Jackie) Sheffer and Isaac Peeters; and grandson Wesley Sheffer. She is further survived by her parents Jay (Renee) Bowman and Valerie Bowman. She is survived by her siblings, Daniel (Kat) Bowman, Denise (Dave) Nerby, Cathie (Pete) Morrow, Joe (Heather) Bowman, Mike (Sara) Bowman and Prudence DeHaven; stepsiblings Nikki (Mario) Byrd, Luke DeHaven and Jessie DeHaven. She is survived by her mother-in-law, Frances Peeters, and Andy’s siblings, Susan (Gerald) Larson, Jean (Thomas) Mikle, Henry Peeters, David Peeters, Karen (Steven) Ries and Janet (Gregory) Letter.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward and Elnora Bowman; Felix and Betty DeGroot; and her father-in-law, James Peeters.
Funeral services for Jennie will take place Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley, WI, at 12 p.m. Father Felix will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service will be a lunch at the church. A burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Alma Center East Lawn Cemetery following the service and lunch.
