JOYCE ROCKNEY
Joyce Rockney, 82, peacefully passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls. Born April 3, 1941, in Black River Falls, WI, she was the beloved daughter of Wilma (Koerth) and Arthur Fulton.
Joyce dedicated many years of her life to the hospitality industry, contributing her talents to establishments such as Club 12, Castle Hill and Club 95. She concluded her working career at TRW in Ettrick, WI, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Arthur and Kenneth Fulton, sister Cheryl Jessie, and sisters-in-law Cynthia Fulton and Arlys Fulton.
Joyce is survived by her son, Michael (Terri) Rockney; grandchildren Michaela (Emmanuel) Balderas, Danica (Sam Leiendecker) Rockney; step-grandson Logan Wonn; great-grandchildren Olivia, Cecilia and Melanie; and brother Donald (Jan) Fulton; along with nieces and nephews.
Joyce found joy in rummage sales with her sister Cheryl and niece Nicole, relishing family gatherings during the holidays, and adorning her home with festive decorations for Christmas and Halloween. In her retirement, she loved to travel and spend time with her friend, Sam Davis.
Her granddaughters, Michaela and Danica, fondly remember Joyce for her fierce independence, unwavering work ethic, boundless generosity and profound love for family. Her extravagant holiday displays and celebrations, turning her yard into a Halloween graveyard and transforming her living room into a Christmas wonderland, created cherished memories. The family also reminisces about the many New Year's Eves spent together.
