JUDY EKERN

     Judy Marie Ekern, 74, passed away Jan. 13, 2023, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. She was born to Nelson and Hilda (Gunderson) McNallie March 19, 1948, in Eau Claire, WI. She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Ekern Aug. 24, 1968 in Osseo, WI.

     Judy attended Osseo High School and graduated in 1966. After high school, she became a certified nursing assistant for over 30 years. She truly had a special gift of working with the elderly. When she wasn’t doing that, she worked part-time and seasonal making lefse in Blair.

     She is survived by her husband, Gerald; children Gerald Jr. (Jennifer) Ekern, Greg (Chandra) Ekern and Patty (Roy) Kvistad; grandchildren Jeremy (Megan) Ekern, Jaren Ekern, Ashley Little, Bailey Ekern, Dakota Kvistad and Cheyenne (fiancé Alex DeWall) Kvistad; great-grandchildren Dustin, Kaylnn, Remy, Ellen and soon-to-be Arlo; brother Jerald (Lois) McNallie; sisters-in-law Lois McNallie and Laurie McNallie; along with many other nieces, nephews and friends.

     Judy is preceded in death by her parents; sister Nan Tiquist; and brothers Robert McNallie and Ronald McNallie. 

     Funeral services for Judy will take place Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at the Schiefelbein Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Pastor Elden Simonson will officiate. Friends and family are invited to visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service.
