KATHLEEN “KATHY T” THOMAS
Kathleen “Kathy T” Thomas was affectionately known amongst her loved ones and friends as Kathy T. She was born Feb. 11, 1961, and sadly departed from us Nov. 15, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Kathy T. has left an enduring mark on the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Despite the immense sadness we all feel at her passing, we also remember the light and joy she brought to our lives.
She is survived by her devoted partner, Forrest Hodge; her doting sons, Nicholas and Marcus Thomas; her beloved grandson, Davis Beaman; her caring brother, Randy Peterson; and her loving sister, Diana Benedict; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Kathy was predeceased by her dear mother, Barbra Peterson; her father, Donald Peterson; and her brothers, Michael and Donald “Joey” Peterson.
Kathy T. spent many years as the manager of Brookside Tavern. People would come from all around to have some of Kathy’s delicious burgers, good drinks and great conversations.
In 2001, Kathy found love and companionship in her partner, Forrest Hodge. Their love story was a cherished chapter in her life. A mere mention of Kathy’s interests and hobbies could bring a smile to anyone’s face. She was an ardent fan of Conway Twitty, The Mavericks and many others. Her love for music was a constant in her life, providing solace and pleasure in equal measure.
Kathy was also an avid supporter of her favorite sports team, the Green Bay Packers, and enjoyed watching NASCAR. She loved hosting Packer parties and was known for her engaging, unforgettable gatherings. She was an incredible cook and loved to prepare delectable eats for friends and family to enjoy.
She enjoyed many games, with Euchre and Dirty Clubs always at the ready and was fiercely competitive when it came to horseshoes. She had a special love for nature, spending countless hours with wildlife, feeding the birds and deer.
Her beloved TV shows included Jeopardy, cooking shows and Mash every morning. Fishing was another recreational activity she found vastly enjoyable, often finding peace and solitude by the water.
Those who knew Kathy would describe her personality as kind and funny, with an occasionally sassy attitude that made her all the more charming. Her memory will undoubtedly live on in the laughter and conversations shared, in the games played and in the music and television shows enjoyed. We honor her today and remember her with love and respect forevermore.
A celebration of life for Kathy T. will be held Nov. 30, 2024, at 12 p.m. at the American Legion Hanson-Lien Post in Hixton, WI. Prior to the celebration, a burial service will take place at Trinity Rest Cemetery, South Hoffman Street, Hixton, WI, at 11 a.m. These moments will provide a time for us to gather, to remember and to celebrate the remarkable woman Kathy was.
