MARILYN MOE

Marilyn Moe, 93, passed away peacefully April 7, 2026 in Oakdale, MN.  She had been living at a senior living / assisted care facility since June 2024. She was a lifelong resident of the Northfield-Hixton area. 

Marilyn was born to Ellsworth and Florence Skaar (nee Tandy)  in October 1932, in Hixton, WI. The first place she remembered living in Hixton, she referred to it as the bee hive. Marilyn graduated from Hixton High School and was a member of the cheer leading squad.

Marilyn was employed at Fort McCoy in Tomah, WI for 32 years, and retired December  1989.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Leland (Joline) Moe and Loren Moe; and daughter Linda (Joel) Isaacson.  Grandchildren Alyssa (John) Thao, Jeffrey Moe, Ellie Isaacson and Cody Isaacson.  Great-grandchildren, Nathan, Abigail, Isabelle Thao; Raya Knutson and Kiera Isaacson.  Brother Terry (Karen) Skaar and sister-in-law Carol Jahn.  Last, but not least, her beloved roommate Bootsy.

She will now have a front row seat to watch the Brewers.  She will be able to play a few hands of Smear, Cribbage, and maybe some Black Jack with those who preceded her.  She will be  reunited with her husband, Leonard;  parents, Ellsworth and Florence; sister Ellen Skaar; and brothers Robert and Richard and his wife Annette in heaven.  Also, in-laws Louis and Charlotte Moe; sister-in-law Noretta Mora and her husband Chuck; and brother-in-law LaVern Moe.   Oh what a reunion this will be!!

Services were held at Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church  Monday, April 13, 2026.  Visitation was from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral was at 2 p.m. with burial in the church cemetery to follow. Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton is assisting the family with arrangements.
