Mathew Micheal Somers

Mathew Micheal Somers, known lovingly to many as “Rain,” passed away May 15, 2026, in Amarillo, TX, at the age of 31. Born Aug. 19, 1994, in Beloit, WI, Mathew lived a life defined by movement, warmth and an irrepressible spirit that drew people to him wherever he went. 

From an early age, Mathew possessed a free-spirited nature that would come to define his journey through life. Outgoing and bubbly, he had a way of lighting up every room he entered. Those who knew him best cherished his unfiltered honesty, a quality that made his friendships genuine and his presence unforgettable. 

He was a true traveler, never content to stay in one place for long, always seeking new horizons and experiences that broadened his understanding of the world. His passions for fashion and animals further revealed the depth of his character, reflecting both his creative eye and his tender heart. 

Mathew was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Deana Goodbear. 

He is survived by his father, Christopher Somers; his brothers, Jacob Somers and Nicholas Somers; and his sister, Cassandra Ware. He is also survived by the many friends and kindred spirits he gathered throughout his travels. 

May he now find the peace and boundless freedom he always sought in this life. 

A funeral service was held May 22, 2026, at Buswell Funeral Home in Black River Falls, WI. Mathew was laid to rest at Goodbear Cemetery near Friendship, WI, returning home to the land of his family.
