Patricia May Bredlow, 87, passed away peacefully in Tomah, WI, Dec. 26, 2023. Patricia was born May 27, 1936, to Helen and Percy Phillips in McHenry, IL, where she grew up with her three brothers, Wayne, Roger and Glen.
After graduating from Neillsville High School in 1954, Patricia went on to pursue a degree at Purdue University and later obtained her life insurance license.
Patricia was married in 1955 and from this union had four daughters, Victoria, Laurel, Rosemary and Brigitte.
Patricia loved to sew and made lingerie for various stores throughout the 1960s as a professional embroiderer. She was also the first woman to own her own insurance agency in the state of Wisconsin, and many women would later follow her lead. In 1997, Patricia started a stained-glass studio, Glass Delights, in Black River Falls, creating stained glass windows for churches all over Wisconsin and the United States. She also played an integral role in acquiring the murals around downtown Black River Falls.
Always one with a strong will and an even stronger spirit, Patricia beat cancer four separate times throughout her life.
Patricia is survived by her four daughters, Victoria Thiel, Laurel Lea Harrison, Rosemary Bashaw and Bridgitte London; and her grandchildren, Justin, Jared and Ross.
She is predeceased by her parents, Percy and Hellen; and her brothers, Wayne Phillips, Roger Phillips and Glen Phillips.
A graveside funeral service was held at the Little Norway Cemetery in Black River Falls, WI, Monday, Jan. 8, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Cal Thorson officiating.
