Peggi McRae

Peggi Ann McRae (Bruley) peacefully passed Monday, June 6, 2022, at Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire, after a two-year long battle with ovarian cancer.

Peggi was born Dec. 31, 1961, in Dayton, OH. She graduated from Black River Falls High School. In addition to her work as a tax preparer for many years, Peggi worked for Ashley Furniture for several years in the corporate marketing department. Peggi dreamed of traveling the country. She later studied professional truck driving and got her CDL from Bates Technical College in Tacoma, WA. Peggi drove cross-country until she came home to care for her mother in 2014. Around the same time, Peggi started her career at Millis Transfer as a recruiter and trainer, where she worked until her final days. Peggi loved her work, her drivers and her co-workers and they loved her.

Peggi is survived by her son Timm Bruley; two grandchildren, Colin and Evan (Bug); her sister, Lori Jayne Carlson (Bruley); brother Ed “Tiger” Bruley (Judy); nieces Barb (Brandon), Nikki (Stephen) and Kristi; nephews Matthew (Courtney), Robert and James (Nikki); her aunts, Judy Jessie, Juanita (Petie) Duncan and Barb Gustafson (Bob); her uncle, Larry Casper; several great- nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; and her faithful companion - her dog, Buddy.

Peggi was greeted in Heaven by her mother, Beverly Joy Sankey (Casper); brother Tim Bruley; and several pets - most of them dogs named “Pal.” There is no doubt that it was a joyful reunion.

Peggi was a warrior, and she dearly loved and protected her family. She was a beautiful poet and artist, and she will be greatly missed.

Share your stories of remembrance with family and friends at a casual open house Saturday, June 25, from noon until 4 p.m. at 701 North Washington Street in Melrose, WI. Lunch will be served.
