RICHARD “DICK” LINDOW

RICHARD “DICK” LINDOW
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard “Dick” Lindow, who went home to the Lord Jan. 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Jan. 29, 1939, in Black River Falls, Dick was the cherished son of Creswell and Gladys (Davis) Lindow. He graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1957 and went on to build a successful 40-year career as a skilled and dedicated road construction foreman. He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139 and a devoted member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
On Oct. 30, 1971, Dick married the love of his life, Ardel Anderson. Together, they spent 53 joyful years creating a life full of love, laughter and family. Their shared adventures included dancing the polka, camping trips in their trusty camper, snowmobiling during the winter months and cultivating beautiful and bountiful gardens.
Above all, Dick’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He delighted in sneaking them treats when they were young and took immense pride in attending their church and sporting events as they grew. A natural problem-solver and tinkerer, Dick had a knack for fixing anything, often coming up with clever solutions for even the toughest challenges. Whether it was roofing, plumbing or taking down trees, Dick was always the first to lend a hand to those he loved.
Known for his sharp wit and hearty laugh, Dick brought humor and joy to every room he entered. He loved to tell stories and jokes, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering generosity.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Creswell and Gladys, and his sister, Shirley Johnson.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ardel, of Black River Falls, WI; his children, Anette (Aaron) Wisniewski of Burlington, WI, Kristen (Joe Von Haden) Lasher of Eau Claire, WI, and Davin (Kristen) Lindow of Roberts, WI; his 11 treasured grandchildren; and his siblings, Judy Salzwedel of Blair, WI, Carol (Gary) Gunderson of Ettrick, WI, and Creswell Jr. (Ann) Lindow of Black River Falls, WI.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Evangelical Lutheran Church or St. Croix Hospice in Dick’s honor.
Dick’s legacy of love, laughter, and hard work will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
