RICHARD ERNST

     Richard Donald Ernst passed away June 25, 2022. He was born June 13, 1944, to Willard and Norma (Fenney) Ernst.  

     He grew up on his family’s farm near Black River Falls. He later moved to the Milwaukee area where he became a skilled patternmaker. After retirement, he moved to Taylor and continued farming.  

     Richard loved hunting and took wonderful trips, including to South Africa and Newfoundland. You could usually find him in Tom’s shop conversing about farming and market prices. He also enjoyed a morning breakfast gathering with his friends. 

     He is survived by his wife, Jane, and daughter Valacia; brothers David (Sharon), Ronald (Carol) and Peter (Sharon); and sisters Kathy Leffingwell (Jim) and Kristy Prokash (Ken). He is also survived by stepchildren Troy Wyss (Tari), Nancy Forman (Joe), Dawn Wyss (Tom Bahr) and Sarah Wyss. He has eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  

     He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bruce and Steven; sister Kay and stepson Gregory Wyss.           

            A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion at 421 WI-54 in Black River Falls July 30 from 1 to 4 p.m.
