RITA L. SHRAMEK

     Rita Louise Shramek, 61, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, in the Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall.

     Rita was born in Winona, MN, Jan. 14, 1961, the third child of Lyle and Helen (Schultz) Hoff. She married John Shramek Oct. 29, 1977, and they had four children.

     Rita enjoyed baking and cooking and would always bring chicken and wild rice soup to family gatherings. She also loved watching cooking shows with her grandson. Rita was great at sewing and took pride in making outfits and dresses for her daughters when they were younger. She also enjoyed dancing with her friends and family at festivals and events, and received accolades for her lovely singing voice. Rita was one of those with a gift of woo. Meet her, and you became her new best friend. She was caring, kind and was always there when you needed her. Rita was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with family and was incredibly proud of all of them.

     Rita is survived by her husband, John; four children, Justin (Amy Hamble) Shramek, Jeremy (Misha Johnson) Shramek, Kyley Shramek and Lindsy Shramek; eight grandchildren, Logan, Jackson, Tavian, Brayden, Haylli, Jayce, Zachary and Amerikus; three siblings, Rose (Glenn) Stoerzinger, Robin Hakari and Victor Renee) Hoff; and many nieces and nephews.

     Rita was preceded in death by her parents.

     Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at 7 p.m. in Blair Lutheran Church West with Pastor Paul Sannerud officiating. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service.
