ROBERT “BOB” HALVERSON

ROBERT “BOB” HALVERSON

Robert “Bob” Halverson, of Peoria, IL, passed away at his home Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025.

He was born July 6, 1942, in Black River Falls, WI, to Ed and Edith (Simplot) Halverson. He was lovingly raised by Walt and Marge Simonson of Merrillan, WI.

Bob married Mary Dormady June 27, 1971, in Merrillan, WI. Together, they shared many years of love and family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, and their three daughters, Heidi (Steve) Reed of Ohio and Jeannie Halverson and Margaret Halverson, both of Peoria, IL. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Bob is also survived by three brothers, Al (Thom) Halverson of Peoria, IL, Rodger Frost of Arizona and Richard Frost of Texas; and two sisters, Mary Janus of Wisconsin and Lavonne Chung of Georgia.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters, as well as Walt and Marge Simonson, who raised him.

Bob dedicated 34 years of his career to Keystone before retiring in 2005. Outside of work, Bob found joy in life’s simple pleasures, raising homing pigeons, tending to his yard and garden and making sure the birds were always well-fed. He took great pride in keeping his outdoor space beautiful, a passion that brought him both peace and a deep connection to nature. He will be remembered for his hard work, kindness and the love he had for his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s honor. For more information, please contact Jeannie Halverson at ihlvsn@yahoo.com.
