ROBERT D. BURLINGAME

     Robert D. Burlingame, 86, passed away peacefully in his home Jan. 9, 2025.

     Robert was born April 18, 1938, to Lynn and Gertrude Burlingame in Eau Claire WI. Robert had one sister, Shirley Cooper. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1956 and was a captain’s yeoman. He served on the USS PYRO AR24, and the USS Amphion AE13. He was a veteran of the Lebanese Occupation in 1958 and was very proud of becoming a “Shellback” in 1958. After his discharge from the navy, Robert married Susan B. LaFlesh in 1960 in Reno, NV. Robert and Susan lived in California after their wedding. While in California, they had three children, Anthony (Barbara), Timothy (Maria) and Melodey.

     In 1974, the family relocated to Wisconsin. Robert worked for Nelson Muffler for 20 years.

     Robert had a passion for roller skating, Green Bay Packers, and the Milwaukee Brewers. In 2023, Robert had the privilege of going on a Freedom Honor Flight.

     Robert had four grandchildren, Travis, Misha, Brandy and April and five great-grandchildren, Dustin, Hunter, Haylli, Jayce and Caleb.

     A private family service will be held at a later date.

     Torgerson’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
