RONALD HEATH
Ronald Heath, 78, of Black River Falls passed away Sept. 30, 2024, at his home.
Ronald was born Sept. 24, 1946, in Black River Falls, WI, to Tessie and Harold Heath. He graduated from high school in 1964, and entered the United States Army Dec. 1, 1965, serving one tour in Vietnam. After returning from overseas, Ronald worked for Spalding Texaco, Al’s Big Chief and then, as a partner in Trucks of Wisconsin. Following that, he changed careers, serving as assistant chief for the Black River Falls Fire Department, working as a firefighter at Fort McCoy and eventually transferring to working in health and safety at the Hunter Army Airfield, becoming the safety director in 1983. He was deployed to Egypt, Korea, England, Kuwait, Saudia Arabia and Iraq. He served on the Chatham County Board of Equalization in Savannah, GA, for six years, working with property owners on tax appeals.
When not working, Ronald enjoyed woodworking, restoring Ford tractors and old cars, watching NASCAR, and even took a line dancing class.
Ronald is survived by Margaret Fay Ward; Leigh (Edward) Kinyon; Gregory Heath; Jason Heath; brother Richard (Vicki) Heath; grandchildren Stephanie (Jordan) Nortman, Thomas (Hannah) Kinyon, Alena Heath; great-grandchildren Camden, Grayson, and Laurel Nortman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tessie and Harold Heath; brothers Harold Heath and Jim Heath; and sister Donna Heath.
Visitation for Ron was held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at Torgerson’s Funeral Home in Black River Falls, WI. A graveside service followed the visitation at Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls. Following the graveside there was a luncheon at the Lunda Lower Shelter.
