RUANE SIGNE WAUGHTAL

     Ruane Signe Waughtal, 82, of Black River Falls passed away Oct. 13, 2023.

     She was born Sept. 11, 1941, in Black River Falls, WI, to Howard and Phyllis Glander. She graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1959 and then worked in Minneapolis for a short time and returned home and was employed at Economy Loan Company.

     Ruane was united in marriage to Bill R. Waughtal March 11, 1961. In August 1967, they opened East Side Auto Supply in Black River Falls. Ruane enjoyed spending time with family and traveling. 

     She is survived by her husband, Bill Waughtal Sr.; son Billy Waughtal (Annette); grandchildren Ben (Jenna) Waughtal, Toni (Mitchell) Moe and Ally (Billy) Tremain; great-grandchildren Mason, Frankie, Grantland and Audrey; sisters Mary Gunderson and Kris (Bob) Breining; sisters-in-law Sandy Glander and Patsy Anderson; brother-in-law Charles Waughtal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis and Howard Glander, and grandparents Selma and Matt Christenson.

     A private family service was held and a private celebration of life will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation be made to Interfaith Volunteers of Jackson County or the Jackson County Animal Shelter.

     Coulee Region Cremation Group is assisting the family.
