RUTH ANN JAHN
Ruth Ann Jahn passed away at the Pigeon Falls Healthcare Center Monday, Jan. 27, 2025.
She was born to Roger and Mae (Rubenbauer) Alexander at home in Jackson County. She attended Alma Center High School and after graduation, she enrolled at Eau Claire Technical College.
Ruth was a hard worker all her life. From a young age, she worked on the family farm and ran a root beer stand, as well as various other jobs. After college, she worked as a secretary in Eau Claire.
On June 9, 1962, Ruth married Duane Jahn, and from their union they had two children, Julie and Jeff. After 23 years of marriage, the two then divorced.
Ruth was a housewife until 1981 when she began a job working for Prent. She also spent many of her mornings cleaning Jumbo’s Bar before she moved to Whitehall in 2001. After moving, she began working for Ashley Furniture until her retirement. After retiring, Ruth began spending her winters in Hudson, FL, making many new friendships, enjoying the sun, and the “Tiki.”
When not busy working, Ruth kept active playing softball and bowling and even led the youth bowling league. She was also active in her church, acting as the Sunday School superintendent and continued watching church services from her home when she could no longer attend in person. Ruth loved antiquing, camping in Hatfield, flowers, listening to country music (especially Charlie Pride) and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter Julie (Greg) Webster of Whitehall, WI, and Jeff (Carmen) Jahn of Oregon, WI; her six grandchildren, Lindsay (Eric) Stelter, Benjamin Webster, Maddison (Dalton) Suchla, Kali (Masees) Mesdjian, Kara Jahn (Connor) and Kelsey (Alex) Marro; eight great-grandchildren, Theodore and Alexandra Stelter, Kyzer, Kaleigha and Riggs Suchla, Adalyn, Greyson and Lily Mesdjian; and many nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Mae Alexander; ex-husband Duane Jahn; siblings Sherry Peterson, Gary Alexander, Donald Wagner and Kenneth Wagner; sister-in-law Gwen Wagner; brother-in-law Bernie Peterson; and nephew Steven Wagner.
The family would like to thank the Pigeon Falls Healthcare Center for their loving care the past year and a-half as well as St. Croix Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care in Ruth’s final days.
