STEVEN E. NORTH

     Steven E. North, 72, of Black River Falls, died Saturday, March 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 15, 1952, in Sparta to John and Edna Mae (Gilbertson) North. He grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School. He served in the National Guard with the 107th Maintenance Company in Sparta.

     Steven married Lois Taylor March 25, 1972. They resided in Cataract. Together, they had three children. They later divorced, after 31 years of marriage, in 2003. 

     Steven is survived by his children, Eric (Tammy) North, Gary (Jamie) North and Tricia (Jeffrey) Zillmer; grandchildren Kevin North, Zachary Neumann, Hayley (Brock) Thomas, Zachary (Brianna) Kelley, Mariah Kelley, Abygail North, Johnathon (Kassondra) Zillmer, Ashley (James) Lutz, Amber (Anthony) Lamp and Casey Zillmer; great-grandchildren Preston, Luke, Blake, Alex, Allison, Dawson, Braelynn, Jasmine, Sophia, Elizabeth, Annabelle, Casey, Marcella, Baby Zillmer and Baby Kelley; brother Roger North; and many nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Mae, and former wife, Lois.

     A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Sparta Eagles Club with Reverend Loretta Waughtal officiating.

     Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon April 5, 2025, at Sparta Eagles Club. A luncheon will follow. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com.
