SUZANNE MARGARET HAAG

SUZANNE MARGARET HAAG

Suzanne Margaret Haag, 73, of Black River Falls, WI, passed away at the Serenity House in Tomah, WI, March 19, 2025.

Sue was born to Andy and Bunny Chiappe in Chicago, IL, Feb. 28, 1952. She grew up in Norridge and graduated from Ridgewood High School. Following graduation, she went to Western Illinois University where she received a bachelor’s degree in education and started her teaching career. In 1975, 12 years later, she returned to school and got her Master’s in Education from Rosary College. She continued to teach in Elgin, IL, for 34 years, working with special needs students.

On July 2, 2005, Sue and Calvin Haag were united in marriage in Barlett, IL.             After retirement, Sue kept busy by substitute teaching at Black River Falls High School and became a Reiki Master, going on to start her own Reiki studio. Originally starting in the basement of her and Calvin’s home, she eventually opened Rainbow Rock Reiki in downtown Black River Falls in 2015.

In Sue’s free time, she enjoyed deer hunting and fishing at Lake Geneva, where she spent her childhood at her grandparent’s lake house. Sue and Calvin went on many adventures together, even visiting Australia and Europe. While visiting Liverpool, England, Calvin and Sue were able to take a Beatles tour, a band Sue loved. Sue loved all kinds of music and attended many concerts. Sue was an active member of the Falls Players and acted in many plays over the years. If she wasn’t acting in the play, she could often be found behind the scenes or somewhere in the audience.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, Calvin; children Mike (Erin), Darren and Connie (Chad); grandchildren Theo, Grace, Chloe and Audie; along with many beloved friends and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Bunny; her grandparents; a son, Nathan; and friends Donna Pohlman and Kathy Harris.

Funeral services for Sue will take place Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Torgerson’s Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Friends and family are invited to visitation from 2 p.m. until the time of service. A private burial will take place at a later date.
