TODD ALAN WELDA

     Todd Alan Welda, 55, passed away April 21, 2024.  He was born April 13, 1969, in West Allis, WI, to Richard and Pamela Brown Welda.

     Todd lived in Pewaukee and Waukesha, WI, as child where he thrived on his need to stay active. He enjoyed playing catcher on the baseball team and more importantly tormenting his neighbors with immature hijinks. His curiosity and general disregard of rules led to him frequenting the local emergency room so often that they knew his name.

     Todd spent seven years in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of sergeant. He served in the Gulf War and thrived on jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.  

     Todd received his undergraduate degree from Viterbo University and his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He spent eight years working for BP International, which took him and his family from Chicago to England. In England, he greatly improved his golf game but also started his fascination with getting information out of people through his study of competitive intelligence. He held positions at several other organizations, including Trane Residential Systems, Whirlpool, World Fuel Services and DNV GL. These roles allowed him to expand his network and knowledge of how to lead multi-faceted organizations. Most recently, he ran the program management office at Daikin Comfort Solutions.

     Todd was a very outgoing and personable individual. He could relate to anyone. He had a gregarious nature, which allowed strangers and friends alike to gravitate to him. He had a true curiosity for how things worked, and, although he hated reading, would research any topics he found interesting. These topics ranged from vacation destinations to pool maintenance to Papal activities. He held informal roles as handyman, counselor, teacher and cheerleader with his family and friends.

     Todd also loved hunting and traveling. These two often intersected and took him to glamourous places like Greenland to hunt musk ox, South Africa to hunt kudu, Yukon to hunt moose and South Dakota to hunt buffalo.  He visited all 50 states and all seven continents which was a lifelong goal.

     Todd loved his family and cherished time with all four of his children. He was a devoted father who loved to tease in dinnertime conversation, roughhouse on the floor and try to embarrass his children whenever possible. His outright lack of style (or desire to even match his clothes) or his ability to spontaneously invent new nicknames for visiting friends was a Todd staple.

     He will be greatly missed.  He truly had an impact on everyone he interacted with. His passing is leaving a void in many hearts.

     He is survived by his wife Stephanie; children Heather Brown, Hayden, Ava and Zachary; son-in-law Michael Brown; granddaughter Madeline Brown; mother Pamela Brown Welda, Viroqua; and siblings Penny Nelson, Kristie and Tyler.
